2020 Ford Mustang At Midland’s Bourgeois Motors

Since its introduction in 1964, to its current iteration—earning the distinction of being the longest-running Ford production model, now in its sixth-generation generation—the Ford Mustang has been the gold standard when it comes to both innovation and performance; it even created a whole new segment of vehicles, the ‘pony car’. Earning its hood stripes on the racetrack and in popular culture, the Mustang is an enduring piece of the Ford Motor Company’s legacy—with the newest version offering the same impressive style and performance as all those that came before it. On the note of legacies, there’s nowhere better to find the 2020 Ford Mustang than Ontario’s Bourgeois Motors—Midland’s premier Ford destination for 75 years! So read on, and learn more about the 2020 version of the iconic Ford Mustang.

Performance

With six different engines powering the 2020 Ford Mustang lineup, there’s something for everyone—from the occasional lead-foot to the track junky. Starting with the 2.3L EcoBoost® engine found in the base model capable of cranking out 310 horsepower and 350 lb.-ft of torque, to the (just barely) street legal 5.2L supercharged V8 found in the Shelby™ GT500™, every version of this iconic pony car offers serious horsepower. An available high performance packages ups the ante on the 2.3L EcoBoost® option, while still providing exceptional fuel efficiency; though, Mustang aficionados might feel more at home behind Ford’s classic 5.0L V8—a Twin Independent Variable Camshaft Timing engine propelling the GT and Bullitt trims forward with 420 lb.-ft of torque and 460 or 480 horsepower, respectively. Standard on both the Shelby™ GT350™ and GT350R is a 5.2L NA Ti-VCT with a Flat-Plane Crankshaft, Ford’s highest-revving production V8 ever with a redline of 8,250 rpm, capable of tearing up the tarmac thanks to 526 horsepower and 429 lb.-ft of torque. Finally, the aforementioned GT500™; the most powerful street-legal Mustang engine Ford has ever produced, this supercharged 5.2L V8 channels 760 horsepower and 625 lb.-ft of torque through an exclusive TREMEC® 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. Other Mustang models are given a choice between a 6-speed manual transmission, 6-speed manual with Rev Matching, or the available 10-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. No matter which engine or transmission you choose, you’ll still be treated to the type of thrilling performance synonymous with the Ford Mustang.

Design

Taking cues from its long and illustrious history, the 2020 Ford Mustang provides as much style as it does power—no easy feat. From a wide range of paint colour choices, to 18 different wheel styles, the 2020 Mustang allows for a deeply personal driving experience. Taking one choice from you, Ford has made their signature LED headlamps standard across the Mustang lineup, perfect for seeing the road ahead clearly—or adding to this pony car’s always grand entrance. Inside the push-button start Mustang, available heated and cooled sport seats provide exceptional comfort while the accent stitched centre console and steering wheel provide a healthy dose of sporty charm. For added excitement, convertible trims bring style and open-air luxury to all your open-road adventures. Finally, a range of special edition packages provide keen details and nods to the Mustang’s lasting legacy; from the Wimbledon White paint job of the GT350™ Heritage Edition Package to the white cue ball shift knob found in the Mustang BULLITT, influenced by the McQueen film with the same name, every special edition of the 2020 Ford Mustang offers up a serious dose of style.

Technology

Despite acknowledging all that came before it, the 2020 Ford Mustang offers up a serious dose of advanced driving and infotainment technology. The available class-exclusive 12” LCD digital cluster found inside the 2020 Mustang is fully configurable, allowing you to do everything from tailor the selectable drive modes to push the performance of your Mustang to the next level thanks to Ford’s Track Apps™—key performance metrics displayed in your digital instrument panel. That technology extends itself to your driving experience whether you’re turning down the sound of your Mustang in the morning thanks to the available active valve performance exhaust system’s Quiet Start mode, or utilizing the Launch Control with Electronic Line-Lock for serious burnouts on the track. Add in the Ford’s voice-activated SYNC® system, or the available SYNC® 3, for access to your smartphone—though we figure you’ll be more interested in the thrill of driving your new 2020 Mustang than what any of your friends are doing.

Safety

The smart features of the 2020 Ford Mustang also add some serious safety into the mix—with the available Ford Safe and Smart™ Package offering driver-assistance technologies like Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking, Auto High Beam headlamps, Lane-Keeping Alert, and more. Of course, the incredible handling of the Mustang does its fair share in helping you avoid potential problems; an independent-component suspension, specially tuned for optimal performance, the Mustang is as responsive as they come—without sacrificing comfort. Add in the available MagneRide™ Damping System, wherein an onboard computer scans the road 1,000 times per second—per damper—to ensure a consistently smooth and secure performance. Finally, the 2020 Ford Mustang offers plenty of stopping power thanks to four-piston brake calipers with vented rotors up front, and single-piston calipers in the back—or the serious, 15” six-piston Brembo™ calipers found in the Mustang GT Performance Package.

Mustang Model Changes

While the 2020 Ford Mustang is certainly indebted to every prior Mustang Ford has produced, it dutifully follows the impressive performance of the 2019 version while building upon it in a variety of ways. The biggest of which is undoubtedly the new High-Performance EcoBoost® Package, bumping the most efficient engine option up to a total of 330 horses. A new EcoBoost® Handling Package has also been added for the 2020 Mustang Coupe models, adding to this Ford’s already stellar handling. The sophisticated FordPass Connect smartphone app has become standard equipment for all Mustang models, while a range of new paint and wheel options round up the changes to Ford’s longest-running production model.
