That barely matches Ford’s base 1.5L engine, which produces 180 horsepower. Moreover, both SUVs offer all-wheel drive, but the Escape can actually detect when AWD isn’t needed and will automatically disconnect the rear driveline, switching to front-wheel drive to help improve fuel efficiency.

Technology

Both the 2025 Ford Escape and the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox come equipped with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a variety of connectivity features to keep you connected on the go. However, the Equinox features an 11.3-inch diagonal infotainment touchscreen, while the Escape offers a larger 13.2-inch LCD centre touchscreen.
